We welcome you to join us at the 7th annual Carstairs Heritage Festival and Parade of Kilts, in celebration of the Scottish history of Carstairs, Alberta, Canada.
This is a parade which really resonates! Enjoy a fun musical parade of bagpipes, drums and marching with various clans from all over joining. Also participating will be Highland Dancers as well as supporting organizations. There will be free candy to collect!
This marks a special year where the games will be part of the Wild Throws Country Alberta Championship. Enjoy watching the power of traditional Scottish Heavy athletic events such as Throwing the Hammer or Tossing the Caber.
Enjoy live bagpipe band music all day as they play Celtic music in the park. To finish up the day, all the clans will join together to create an incredible musical festival finale.
Always a crowd favourite - cheer on your favourite organization as they go head to head against each other in a good ol' fashioned tug-of-war competition.
Get up close with adorable farm animals, or find delight by enjoying some colourful facepainting. Explore our kids zone which includes free fun games and craft booths.
Explore the heritage and history of Carstairs by touring our local museum. Featuring the historical 1901 Knox Presbyterian Church & 1901 McCaig House, various outbuildings, historical artifacts and immersive scavenger hunt - there is something to see for everyone.
Featuring indoor and outdoor booths, we will have a some great vendors, delicious treats from food trucks, informative booths about the wonderful clans joining us, plus entertaining workshops.
We will have special indoor performances by the Slainte Social Club band, as well as the St. Andrew-Caledonian Society Ceilidh interactive dance, Highland dance demonstrations, and much more. We thank these talented groups and individuals for joining us!
